The St. Mary’s County Arts Council and the Town of Leonardtown hosts an annual Art Walk in September. This event celebrates the Leonardtown’s Arts & Entertainment District designation.

Each year our local artists are encouraged to submit artwork to be displayed in all of the businesses around Leonardtown. Our Art Walk contest is an exciting opportunity to view artwork created locally in a wide variety of media and styles with generous prizes awarded to the winners!

Stop by any of the businesses featured on the map in September, pick up a ballot, get the ballot stamped at three different locations, and select your three favorite pieces of art! You can select the art from ANY of the businesses as long as you visit at least three different locations for your ballot to be stamped.

Guidelines:

• By completing the form below, you agree to the guidelines and provide permission for the use of images of your work for marketing and promotional purposes.

• Only one entry may be submitted per person. Artists may be residents of St. Mary’s, Calvert, or Charles counties.

• This contest is for artists ages 18 and up. Our Youth Art Month show is featured every March.

• Wall art must not exceed 30" in any direction, including the frame. Wall art must have a sawtooth hanger or wire on the back for hanging. Sculptures will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Canvas pieces may be unframed but the sides need to be painted/finished.

• All pieces must be family-friendly.

• Only wall art submissions will be considered for this contest. Other pieces, such as sculptures, will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

• A $10 Art Walk fee is due at the time of delivery of the art piece. The delivery period is June 17 - July 30, 2026. Delivery location: 22660 Washington St., Leonardtown, MD 20650
