“Yuletide” - Holiday Concert
Join David W. Cook & The Rivers of Harmony for a magnificent evening of music, as they present a one-night only special concert! Featured will be select songs from their Award-Winning album, "Christmas Carols", featuring Howard Blake's beloved Christmas Story, "The Snowman", with a few added songs for a festive celebration!

Holiday & Winter Closure
The St. Mary’s County Arts Council Gallery & Gift Shop is closed Wednesday, December 24, 2025 thru Saturday, January 3rd for the holidays and our annual winter maintenance.
We will reopen on Wednesday, January 6th and resume our regular hours at that time.

Welcome Back Wednesdays (weekly workshops)
Join us every Wednesday to meet the St. Mary’s County Arts Council staff, local artists, friends of the Arts Council, and others!
Bring a project in progress and work in the company of others or just stop by to say hello!
Don’t have a current art project? We have some easy art kits available for purchase.
Also bring your favorite beverage and snacks (there are several coffee spots within easy walking distance).
Pets are welcome!
RSVP via email is appreciated but not required.
Free parking is available on Washington St. and behind our building and other designated public lots.

Valentines for Soldiers Card Making
Join Christie Agamaite from Edward Jones, in conjunction with The St. Mary’s County Arts Council, for a fun evening of card making!
This is a free event and all supplies will be provided. The cards will be sent by Christie’s office to soldiers for Valentine’s Day! No skills needed.

Maryland Arts Day
Maryland Arts Day is the largest annual gathering of arts professionals in Maryland. With more than 500 participants, representing every county in the state and Baltimore City, this statewide arts advocacy event connects artists, educators, administrators, volunteers and trustees with lawmakers from every legislative district in Maryland.
The St. Mary’s County Arts Council staff and board members will be there in support of The Arts in Maryland and its impact on the economic and cultural vitality of the state. Learn more here about Maryland Arts Day!
2026 Cherry Blossom Festival - Save the Date!
Save the date for the 2026 Cherry Blossom Festival in Lexington Park!
The Annual Cherry Blossom Festival is a free event offering fun for the whole family, featuring a variety of vendors, local community organizations, activities, demonstrations, food trucks, and so much more!

Holly Days Extravaganza
The Lexington Park Business Association hosts its third annual Holly Days at the Lexington Park Library on December 6-7, 2025.
Saturday evening features a community Christmas Tree and Menorah Lighting, caroling sing-along, free hot chocolate provided by the Lexington Park Rotary Club, and the possible arrival of someone familiar to children worldwide!
On Sunday, the Holly Days Extravaganza continues indoors with an opportunity for Selfies with Santa, arts and crafts for kids of all ages, and a holiday shopping village featuring local vendors. Find additional details here.

First Friday Activities - Color & Light Society
Join us and the Color & Light Society for a fun, family-friendly evening of creativity!
Visitors are invited to make their own gift cards using colorful ink stamps—a perfect hands-on activity for all ages. At the same time, enjoy watching a live watercolor painting demonstration in progress.
Activities are from 5–7:30 PM. All materials provided and all ages are welcome to participate!

Free Meeple painting with Jennifer Galloway from Swords & Spoons! All ages are welcome to participate in this fun First Friday activity! (a meeple is a small game piece, usually wooden and human-shaped)
Painting for Pups - Abstract Art (Leonardtown Fall Paw Crawl)
Join us and other Leonardtown businesses as we celebrate all things paw related!
Stroll around the pet friendly businesses, check out the animal rescue groups and have fun with the pet contests & activities.
We will host a special Painting for Pups-Abstract Art activity from 12 - 3 PM on Sunday, September 28th. A portion of the $10 donation will benefit local rescue groups.
