Youth Board Member

Do you want to have a voice in planning arts programs here in St. Mary's County?
Do you want to learn how to be an arts advocate?
The St. Mary's County Arts Council Board is seeking a youth member!
Expectations:
Be active representatives of St. Mary's County youth. Members must attend general board meetings on a regular basis.
Meeting Schedule: Second Thursday of the month from 5 - 6:30 PM. Location: Leonardtown Town Hall.
Identify and discuss needed art initiatives in St. Mary's County from a youth perspective.
Work with other council members on collaborative projects.
Serve on a committee of your choice. Meeting times are once a month on a regular schedule. Each committee has their own meeting date/time. Some committees offer virtual meeting options.
Serve as liaisons to other affiliated youth organizations and peers in their communities.
Explore and develop leadership skills.

If you would like to be a voice for youth in St. Mary's County, please fill out the application below.
Prospective council members must be 16 - 20 years of age as of July 1, 2024.
Members must serve a minimum of a one year term (September 1, 2025 thru August 31, 2026).
Deadline for application: Sunday, August 10th at 10 PM.
