Farewell 2025, Hello 2026!
A message from Susie Glauner, St. Mary’s County Arts Council Executive Director.
Dear Friends of the St. Mary's County Arts Council,
What a great year! St. Mary's County Arts Council (SMCAC) is proud to highlight some of our 2025 accomplishments!
We created a gallery collaboration with MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital and opened another partner gallery at the Charlotte Hall branch of the St. Mary’s County Library.
We administered a colorful mural representing the Latino Community in the new Pax River Village Center (formerly Millison Plaza) and revealed the incomparable Tulagi Place mural on the side of the Three Notch Theatre in Lexington Park. And, through our strong partnership with the St. Mary’s County Recreation and Parks, we completed another mural at John V. Baggett Park in Mechanicsville.
We eagerly await the funding to arrive for our Carver Community Arts Center and Makerspace, due to open in 2026 (timeline announced soon!). This facility will provide arts education in ceramics, stained and fused glass, metal working, fiber arts and so much more! We are so excited!
And, last but not least, we granted more than $80,000 to the arts in 2025 which supported numerous grantees and provided access to arts programming to all county residents and visitors.
2026 looks bright and we have no plans to slow down, but we still need your help to achieve new goals. Please consider becoming a supporter of the Arts Council (levels start at just $25).
Make a one-time or annual tax-deductible donation of any amount to help us continue our community programs for 2026. Corporate sponsorships are available as well as ways to get employees involved in public art. Ask us how!
Thank you for your support and for helping us make St. Mary's County a destination for the arts!
With gratitude,
Susie Glauner
Executive Director
