In celebration of the 75th year anniversary of the St. Mary's County Library system,  a special community art show will be featured at the Leonardtown Library for the month of October, 2025.

  • We invite submissions of artwork with themes of books, reading,  local history, and anything library-related from past to present.

  • Accepted artwork may be delivered to the Leonardtown Library during open business hours (9 AM - 8 PM) from Monday, September 22nd through Thursday, September 25th. Please do not deliver artwork until you receive a notification of acceptance via email from the library.

  • Submission deadline: Monday, September 15 at 5 PM (or once the maximum number of pieces for the library space are accepted, whichever comes first).

  • All artwork must be of a family friendly nature and suitable for audiences of all ages.

  • Wall art must be framed or have finished edges. All pieces must be hangable with either a sawtooth hanger or wired across the back. The library staff does not have hardware to do this for you.

  • Sculpture pieces will be considered as space permits.

  • One entry per person please.

  • The library will take measures to care for the artwork, however are not responsible in the extremely unlikely case of theft, damage, or other liabilities.

  • The library will not handle sales transactions. If an item is available for purchase, the artist may bring a card or label affixed to the piece which includes the artist's name, email address or other pertinent contact info, and details about the piece (price, media, etc.). Art work may not be removed until after the show ends.
