Our Sugar Madness Community Art Show celebrates all things sweet and delicious!
Join us for the Opening Reception on First Friday, June 6th at St. Mary’s County Arts Council Gallery & Gift Shop. Meet special guests Annise Jefferson and Lakisha Dubose from the Southern Maryland Sugar Show and enjoy a free sugar-themed craft activity with Elsewise Art!

Artwork Guidelines:
The subject interpretation is up to the artist and should include concepts of food, sweets, dessert, etc., as related to the “Sugar Madness” theme.
Residents of all ages from St. Mary’s, Calvert, and Charles Counties may apply.
One entry per person.
A 30% commission will be directed to the Arts Council for any sales. Checks for sales will be mailed by July 15, 2025.
Work may not exceed 24 inches in any direction.
Wall art must be framed with a sawtooth or wire hanger. Canvas pieces do not have to be framed but need either a sawtooth or wire hanger.
Non-wall art pieces (i.e. sculpture, jewelry, etc.) must come with their own stand and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
The work will be up for the whole month of June unless purchased, at which time the customer will take their item(s).
All work must be family-friendly.
If accepted, you will receive an email with a link to make an appointment to deliver your art piece.
Accepted work must be delivered by appointment between May 10th and 24th during regular office hours.
All artwork must be picked up within 30 days after the end of the show.
