New Mural Coming Soon to Lexington Park!

Muralist Rosalia Torres-Weiner.

St. Mary’s County Arts Council led a call for art to create a community-inspired mural through funding from Atlantic Realty Companies.

This mural is more than just a work of art—it is a platform for amplifying the voices, stories, and contributions of the area’s Spanish-speaking community.

This public art piece will be located next to El Rinconcito Mexican Restaurant’s outdoor seating area, creating an accessible and welcoming space.

Through this project, we are striving for visibility, inclusivity, and pride within the community while enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the Pax River Village Center (formerly known as Millison Plaza).

By engaging directly with community members, we aim to create a mural that reflects the cultural heritage and lived experiences of the local Hispanic community.

A community meeting was hosted in August 2025 at the mural site, followed by another session the next day at St. Inie’s Coffee.

Rosalia Weiner-Torres of Red Calaca Studio, the artist selected for this project, met with attendees to hear their ideas and feedback.

We appreciate all who attended the meetings, plus those who took the online survey to provide input for the design. The mural installation is tentatively planned for September/October 2026 with a ribbon cutting event in Spring 2026! Sign up for our monthly e-newsletter for updates about the mural’s progress!
