Youth Art Month - March 2026
Thank you to all who joined us for the recent Opening Reception for our Youth Art Month (YAM) exhibit which opened on First Friday, March 6th. We had so many talented young artists submit their work!
We also featured two guest artists - Tanya from Bubbles Bzzz and Sean Donnan from Tsukimusha.
Youth Art Month is an annual observance every March with a focus on emphasizing the value of art for all children and to encourage public support for quality school art programs.
Established in 1961, YAM provides a forum for acknowledging skills that are not possible in other subjects.
Art Education develops self-esteem, appreciation of the work of others, self-expression, cooperation, and critical thinking. All of these concepts are vital to the success of our children, who are the future leaders of tomorrow. Learn more about YAM here.
The Youth Art Month exhibit at the St. Mary’s County Arts Council Gallery & Gift Shop runs for the whole month of March 2026. Our galery hours are 11 AM - 4 PM Wednesday thru Saturday. Stop by and visit us at 22660 Washington St in the heart of Downtown Leonardtown!
